About Us

Career Path College - Irish Ambulance Training Institute is the leading provider of training in both the Healthcare and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care fields. We provide a range of PHECC accredited courses from Basic First Aid courses through to professional level courses such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic Upskilling. We also offer a suite of QQI Level 5 courses to suit people working in or seeking work in a Care Home setting.

We work with individuals, groups and organisations to ensure that their training needs are met and that they are trained to the highest standards. We work with a large number and range of clients such as Ambulance and Fire Services, Coastguard, Voluntary Organisations, Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Adult Education Centres and many more.

The Founder: Mr. James O’Neill has over 15 years experience working with the ambulance service. After several years within the Training & Development Dept of the HSE Western Ambulance Service, he moved into the post of CEO with Blackrock Ambulance Service. James then made the move to set up the Irish Ambulance Training Institute where he is now the Facilitator and Management Consultant. In 2015 Irish Ambulance Training Institute was re branded to Career Path College (CPC).

The Team: Ms. Breege Newell assisted James in the set up of the Irish Ambulance Training Institute and in November 2015 has taken over as CEO.  Breege is a long serving employee of Career Path College and is committed to  growing the business and continue to pursue opportunities for future and continued success.

Catherine Duggan is the Training and Compliance Manager of Career Path College, with vast experience as an Instructor and PHECC Tutor, in adition to having a MSc. in Training & Education Management, Catherine is dedicated to course development and to meeting all company policies and procedures in order to successfully meet the high Quality Assurance Systems of Career Path College.

Marian Turley is the Financial Director of Career Path College, Marian also assisted in setting up the company at its early stages and continues to monitor and evaluate day to day accounting activities.

The Faculty: Our faculty consists of PHECC qualified Advanced Paramedics, Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. We are a nationwide training service and facilitate training in a location convenient to groups and organisations. Alternatively, the facilities at our training locations in Galway, Dublin, Donegal or Cork can be used.
